My Story
McCullins HR was founded in 2019 by me, Muriel McCullins, with a single mission: to be the affordable, flexible go-to HR Consultancy for the small business community.
Introduction
I'm a Chartered MCIPD HR professional with over 20 years’ experience working with strong performing commercial businesses of all sizes throughout the island of Ireland and Great Britain, with a real passion for supporting the SME business community.
How did I get here?
A native of Co Tyrone, I excelled at school but, with little in terms of career advice, decided to bypass university and went straight into the world of work.
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 24, I took some time to adjust, and was successful in securing a role in a drinks wholesalers which was close to home.

It was there that I was given the opportunity to enrol in evening classes and successfully achieved my first CIPD qualification; and the rest as they say is history.
I’d found my ‘thing’ and went on to pursue my career in HR, primarily within the FMCG sector and more specifically the licensed drinks and hospitality trade.

My lightbulb moment!
Living in a fairly remote area, with a young son, it became increasingly difficult to manage a typical 9 to 5 role, and after taking a short career break, I decided to take the plunge into self-employment in 2019.

Despite the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic in the middle of it, I had sampled the benefits of a genuine work-life balance and my lightbulb moment was that I had a real alternative!
And now?
Based in Co Down, I created McCullinsHR to meet the growing demand for realistically priced HR services for small to medium sized businesses.
I understand that running your own business has many challenges, so I offer my expertise through my HR consultancy range of services to let you focus on what you are best at – running your business.
McCullinsHR was built on offering flexible, affordable, and bespoke HR services. I can contribute with experience and competence to manage all or just a part of your HR needs.

As a business owner, I know time is not in abundance but when an HR issue arises you have to act fast. I will be there in a way that suits you, your team, and your business.
My entire career has been in HR and as a small business owner myself, I understand the need to focus on cost, but not at the expense of quality.
